Friends of St Michael’s Church - Financial Support
Whether you are a Parishioner, Villager or Friend of St. Michael’s Church, we, as Trustees, felt it important to update you on the ways in which we have used the funds raised to support the church building to date, what our plans are for the future, and to thank you for your continued contributions.
Recently we bought a new strimmer and funded the purchase of a small shed, to meet temporary storage needs.
In addition, we have offered to donate £1000 to go towards the partial cost of addressing a number of issues, identified in the last Quinquennial report*, some of which relate to Health and Safety and include:
Repairing / replacing the rotten fascia boards to which the guttering is fixed
Replacing netting and louvres in the church tower to prevent bird damage
Repairing and re-laying the Church path
Providing a handrail for the pulpit steps
Upgrading the ladder in the tower to enable safe access
Installing a new flagpole, which is safer to access
This work will be undertaken by professionals and will require extensive additional funding, both from donations and external grants, which the PCC is currently investigating.

Quinquennial Report - A Quinquennial Inspection is a detailed, professionally compiled report of a church which must be carried out at least once every five years. It highlights areas of deterioration or concern which should be addressed prior to the next inspection.
